The MK STEM Awards will take place on Thursday, 29th February 2024, and we are looking forward to bringing our STEM community together and celebrating in style at MK’s fabulous Unity Place venue. These awards have been designed to promote the vast achievements and celebrate our STEM heroes in and around Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Join us in raising a glass to everyone who plays a part in making Milton Keynes an economic growth hub and one of the UK’s leading STEM cities.

We welcome entries from a wide audience including Blue-chip companies, new initiatives, innovators, start-ups, children, teenagers, individuals, schools or colleges, adult education establishments, consultants,  research organisations, associations and not-for-profit programmes.

Categories

​An initiative led by women (incl. Transwomen) that promotes women’s empowerment in STEM.
An educational establishment or qualification provider that can demonstrate they are inclusive place to study in terms of STEM course offering and opportunities and support for a diverse student cohort.
An individual who is currently at school, who has demonstrated achievements in their studies and has shown exemplary progress in a STEM subject, through a project or initiative they have undertaken.
An individual who is currently in full time or part time further or higher education (college, university, or part of an apprenticeship scheme) who has demonstrated achievements in their studies and has shown exemplary progress in a STEM subject, through a project or initiative they have undertaken.​
A young person (aged 16-30) who is currently working on a project to help improve a STEM initiative and who shows leadership qualities, to lead on potential STEM initiatives for the future.
A project or initiative that an organisation or individual has undertaken within the last three years and is doing something innovative within their industry, that makes them stand out from their competitors.

A STEM start-up which has been established within the last three years and can demonstrate a strong plan for future growth in terms of innovation and financial growth.

An organisation that has encouraged and has shown its commitment to D, E & I within STEM, through their workforce (recruitment, retention & training) and diversity of client projects.
A STEM business that puts sustainability at the heart of what they do and which has resulted in a positive environmental impact.

Someone who has dedicated their career to STEM and the impact they have had on a community or organisation or STEM segment /area.

Meena Chander is the CEO of Events Together and has a long and successful track record in the global corporate events industry. Five years ago, Meena successfully launched the ‘This Is Us’ Conference, the first Diversity and Inclusion Conference for MK. Meena followed this success in 2023 with the ‘This Is Us’ D&I Awards. Meena is based in Milton Keynes and is committed to supporting the development of this area.

All submissions will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Each Judge will be required to sign an NDA in advance of the judging.
